FASTRAK $5,000 to win “Battle of the North-South 50” POSTPONED for this Weekend at Thunder Mountain Speedway, New Race Date Set for June 1st

(Four Oaks, North Carolina) – Due to the Projected Forecast of 80% chance of precipitation for this Saturday in Hanover, West Virginia. FASTRAK Companies International and Thunder Mountain Speedway have reached a mutual agreement to POSTPONE the Saturday May 18th “Battle of the North-South 50” $5,000 to win event. A new date has already been set in place which will be now rescheduled to June 1st.

“With an almost $20,000 dollars Purse on the line and the weather projections not looking good it was just in the best interest of everyone to POSTPONE this event for another day – June 1st.” stated Brian Haynes – FASTRAK Director of Operations. The race with the FASTRAK Racing Series is a FASTRAK National Event. Meaning it’s going to be drawing drivers and teams from all the regions of FASTRAK. Paying also $5,000 to win, it’s the biggest racing spectacle to ever hit Hanover, West Virginia’s 4/10th mile newly high-banked track nestled in “coal-mine” country.

Everybody is certainly “hyped and excited” to see this racing event take place as the FASTRAK Racing Series always puts on an awesome performance. The FASTRAK events are always a well officiated and professional show. With the weather that affected West Virginia tracks and much of the Southeast United States last weekend. We all took a gamble playing against the weather. We just do not want to take that chance for this weekend’s big race event at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Plus the weather looks to be a lot worse than last weekend’s forecast for Saturday.

It will still have a $20,000+ purse up for grabs and payout $5,000 to the winner of the “Battle of the North-South 50”. The race event will still be a FASTRAK National event, the only thing that changes is the race date. We are really absolutely looking forward to putting on the biggest racing event thus far ever at “Where the Mountain Roars” – Thunder Mountain Speedway but we’ll just have to wait a few more weeks before it comes to fruition.

The next event on the schedule for the 10th Anniversary “Decade of Speed Tour” for the FASTRAK Racing Series is our Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza. The 8th Annual $30,000 FASTRAK Triple Crown is set for 3 big nights of racing – May 24th, 25th, 26th. Each event will be paying $2,000 to win and a guaranteed $250 to start. The races itself are very unique with 3 different style track and configurations. Friday May 24th we’re at the 3/8th mile Beckley Motorsports Park in Prosperity, West Virginia. On Saturday May 25th we return to the always exciting ½ mile Wythe Raceway nestled off I-81 in the Allegheny Mountains of Rural Retreat, Virginia. Then we’ll close out the 2013 FASTRAK Triple Crown with the return of FASTRAK at the 4/10th mile Princeton Speedway in Princeton, West Virginia.

“Battle of the North-South 50” FASTRAK National Race at Thunder Mountain Speedway Paying $5,000 to Win this Saturday

(Four Oaks, North Carolina) – Coming off a very successful Saturday night in the “Wild and Wonderful” State. The 50 lap event at West Virginia Motor Speedway $5K National event was won in a next to last lap pass by #111 Max Blair. Now the next leg of the FASTRAK National Series makes its way off the historic “Hatfield McCoy Trail” off US 52 in Hanover, West Virginia. Deep in the heart of “coal” country is the 4/10th mile newly “high banked” Thunder Mountain Speedway. The track has gone through it’s up and downs but with new promoter Vondie Brunty at the helm after the also successful reigns by Heath Ellis they are about to embark this weekend on the BIGGEST race ever to hit that facility.

This Saturday May 18th the “Best of the Best” in the “Premier Pro Late Model Series in the Country” – FASTRAK Racing Series will compete in the biggest purse event ever held at the place “Where the Mountain Roars”. $5,000 will go to the winner in a single race purse that’s almost totaled to $30,000 Dollars. The drivers of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division in the Southeast/Mideast region will take on the drivers in the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Chevy Buick GMC Northeast Touring Division on the “newly” high banked dirt track. This Saturday night it’s the “Battle of the North-South 50”.

“We’ve always been like the (Lucas Oil or World of Outlaws) to the community at Thunder Mountain. It’s really cool cause when we drive off I-77 then make the long winding trip to Thunder Mountain on US 52 people throughout the drive down are outside “awing and pointing” at the massive race trailers, or FASTRAK officials totter trailer and souvenir trailer that’s on the way to “Where the Mountain Roars”. When they see those rolling down US 52 they know the “BIG BOYS” have come back to town.” This weekend’s race will be the biggest one to ever take place at Thunder Mountain Speedway.” stated FASTRAK PR. “I’m very pleased with FASTRAK, Stan and all his staff have done a great job with this organization and it shows being the longest running entity for a “Decade of Speed” 10 years that’s impressive. Personal Explanation on Rumors and False Truths that Took Place at Thunder Mountain Speedway, Plus $900 to win FASTRAK Crate Late Models the Next 2 Weekends

**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** May 2nd, 2013 – Thunder Mountain Speedway PR

(Hanover, West Virginia) – There have been many rumors and accusations that have been surfaced and said about the existence of the newly “high-banked” 4/10th mile Thunder Mountain Speedway nestled off Highway 52 in Hanover, West Virginia. The truth is the track is not going anywhere. Regardless of what people say the truth is this. “We are going to race, put on a show for the fans, take care of the drivers and finally finish in a timely manner.” stated Vondie Brunty. There were some loose ends in the management department of the facility that Brunty wanted to keep and work with but it became very apparent after Week #1 of the 2013 season it wasn’t going to work out. Thus changes needed to be made effective immediately which have taken place.

One issue that took place was with the Pay Out on April 20th. The FASTRAK crate late models payout was to be $600 to win. However, there was a base car count payout, only 8 cars were competing. Vondie Brunty proposed to have the payout be cut to only $500 dollars which was agreed; at night’s end when #33 Chris Meadows took the win he was paid only $425 dollars. Someone else (to respect them we will not disclose) cut the pay to that amount. This upset many people including promoter Vondie Brunty which caused him to have to relieve this man of duty at Thunder Mountain Speedway. “This incident was totally uncalled for. As everyone knows I had a family emergency and left early, I apologize for this taking place but please don’t take it out on the track because of it remember, “one monkey doesn’t stop a show unless it’s a one monkey show” and it takes more than one to operate Thunder Mountain Speedway. In closure of that subject the FASTRAK Crate Late Models will be racing for $600 to win every Saturday.

In addition to try and smooth over the incident from 2 weeks ago, Thunder Mountain Speedway management has decided they’re going to pay $900 to win for the FASTRAK crate late models for this Saturday, May 4th and May 11th. The payout is GUARANTEED. This will set the stage for the big first ever FASTRAK Racing Series National Touring event the $5,000 to win “Battle of the North/South 50”, coming up in 2 weeks on Saturday, May 18th.

In regards to the rumors of track personnel having to pay to work on race nights – lets lay this to rest. It’s completely FALSE. The track operations are handled by Vondie Brunty who puts his workers in place to handle the jobs they’re designated. When they work at the track, they get paid at the end of their duties. The concessions part of the facility is handled by Heath Ellis. Ellis has his own crew come to prepare and serve the concessions on race nights to the patrons. The arrangement that was made between Brunty and Ellis was the following: Track personnel would have to pay full price to get concessions during race nights. In return the Concession’s personnel would have to pay full grandstand admission. Both parties agreed that this was fair, that’s what got blew out of proportion which also needed to be laid to rest.

In closing Thunder Mountain Speedway would like to encourage every driver, teams, and most of all the race fans to support the track. In this sport we deal with negative people that try to hurt the foundation of our sport by spreading rumors or false truths to the positive people. The racing season is still in the upstart of the new 2013 racing season. Many big racing events are coming very soon. We want to have the full support of everyone in our weekly racing programs whether in the “Hornets to FASTRAK crate late models”, we want all you race fans to be happy, happy, happy when attending Thunder Mountain Speedway. To the people that want to speculate and cause trouble, I’ll relay what was told by Vondie Brunty personally to close, “We don’t need that type of drama or negative attitude around here and it will not be tolerated.”

One of the first explosive events begins with a National Fastrak Touring Event on May 18th, 2013. The Best of the Best National Fastrak drivers from the north and south regions, battling 50 laps for a first place price of $5,000.00. Then on July 13th, the ADRA Super Late Models will invade Thunder Mountain Speedway for the FIRST TIME EVER for a 30 lap shootout, the winner taking $2,000.00 home – and a guaranteed $300 to start. Thunder Mountain Speedway is SET TO OPEN the 2013 racing season on Saturday April, 20. The track will be operated by Von’s Racing Supply for the 2013 season. We will be running the following classes:
FASTRAK CRATE LATE MODELS, AMRA OPEN WHEELS, SUPER STREET, STREET STOCK, AND KIDS HORNET CLASS. We are currently working on bringing several big exciting shows to the track this year! More info will follow as it’s made available. We look forward to a GREAT racing season here at Thunder Mountain Speedway Where the mountains ROAR! Also Thunder Mountain Speedway would like to Thank Magic Mart in Beckley, WV for the Donations of the kids bicycles that will be given away to a lucky boy and girl every Saturday night for the entire racing season!
