How I Became A Tech Fan

Since I am a geek, I love spending my paychecks on all things electronics; you name it, and I have indulged. When I was a child, I envied all the other children that had their Nintendos, Super Nintendos, Segas, handheld systems, and way more. Of course, I was too young to understand that my parents were not only working full-time to make ends meet and to put wholesome food on our table, but that they were also working overtime.

Growing up, there were four of us. As a teenager growing up in a low income household, I felt deprived. Truth of the matter is, we had at least two meals a day, a lunch packed, used clothes but clothes nevertheless, and electric and water on (well, most of the time).

It was the 8 year old me who told myself that when I grew up, I would have the coolest gadgets ever. I told myself I own not one but two Nintendo systems and everything else that came out. Funny how a child’s mind works, huh? It’s also hilarious, the things that really hurt us… propel us forward in life as well.

Fast Forward…Back TO The Present

Now, at every launch, I reserve my video gaming systems as well as any video games, iPhones, or other gadgets I want to own. My friends seem to think I have a problem, but hey, everyone has something they indulge in, correct?

In their case, it can be drugs or alcohol or food or shoes; in my case, video games and technical gadgets. If I can afford it and it is not causing any harm to others, I find no harm in this.

One of the websites I love to visit regularly is Campad Electronics where I find the most reliable iPhone accessories for a great price. Better yet, whenever I’ve had any problems, which is a rarity, I have found the customer service to be fast and responsive (which let us face it, is half the problem!)

Now, it’s not all bad: I do loath the sedentary lifestyle! I make sure to hit the gym one hour a day, every day. Ever two weeks, I make sure to spend extra time in the gym because both my grandfather and grandmother suffer from heart attacks and diabetes also runs in the family. I realize that video gaming can hinder my health but I believe in balancing your lifestyle.

Just because I love buying the newest in the world of technology does NOT mean I spend hours and hours glued to the couch. In fact, it is quite the opposite!

People love to blame technology but I believe that is a simplistic view: all these advances also have great benefits. It all depends on how you use these technological advances. Sure, you can spend the day looking at cat memes or you can build an online business; you can waste time on Facebook or build your own brand on the same platform. You can play Candy Crush all day or learn to code online for free!

Anyway, now you know some personal stuff about me!
